Regular Season Round 26: Filipenses - Bezana 71-75

No shocking result in a game in Palencia where third ranked Bezana (11-3) defeated 9th ranked Filipenses (7-12) 75-71 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was forward Ismael Diarra (187-1) who scored 26 points. Swiss guard Clayton Le Sann (193-95, college: Holy Cross) chipped in 17 points. Forward David Melero (190-91) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds and swingman Alex Esteban (197-0) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Bezana have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Bezana maintains third position in Group A-B with 11-3 record having four points less than leader Andujar. Filipenses lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 12 games lost. Bezana will face league's second-placed Burgos Nissan at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Filipenses will play against Cantbasket (#4) in Santander and hope to win that game.
