There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Ponte Bugg. (15-10) was outplayed on the road by seventh ranked Patti (13-9) 92-66 on Saturday. Patti dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ponte Bugg.'s 26. Patti forced 30 Ponte Bugg. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Argentinian power forward Victoria Llorente (180-96) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Virginia Galbiati (175-92) chipped in 24 points and 9 assists (on 10-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Patti players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Elena Ramo (183-94) who recorded 22 points and 6 rebounds and Lithuanian power forward Laura Zelnyte (193-94) added 15 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Ponte Bugg.'s coach Luca Andreoli gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Patti maintains seventh position in A2 with 13-9 record. Loser Ponte Bugg. keeps the fifth place with ten games lost.
