There was no surprise when 15th ranked Piadena (5-15) lost at home to second ranked Agrigento (17-4) 83-76 on Saturday. Point guard Alessandro Grande (181-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 5 assists. Power forward Paolo Rotondo (204-89, agency: Players Group) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Swingman Riccardo Chinellato (198-0, agency: Players Group) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Riccardo Arienti (180-2, agency: SLN) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Piadena. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Agrigento keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Livorno Libertas. Piadena lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 15 games lost. Agrigento will face Varese (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Piadena will play against Bologna Basket (#9) and hope to win that game.
