There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked Civitanova (6-14) won against on the road higher ranked Monfalcone (8-12) 79-72 on Saturday. Civitanova made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Monfalcone turnovers. Strangely Monfalcone outrebounded Civitanova 46-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. Monfalcone was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Tommaso Milani (192-88, agency: SLN) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. Riccardo Casagrande (196-88) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Devil Medizza (200-90) replied with 17 points and 8 rebounds and Giulio Casagrande (199-93, agency: Players Group) added 13 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Monfalcone. Monfalcone's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Civitanova moved-up to fifteenth place. Monfalcone lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. Civitanova will face league's second-placed Cividale at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
