Not a big story in a game in Reykjavik where 8th ranked Thor AK (8-10) was rolled over by fifth ranked Valur (10-8) 99-68 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-68. Valur looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Thor AK's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Kristofer Acox (200-93, college: Furman) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Jordan Roland (185-97, college: Northeastern) who added 24 points during the contest. American point guard Dedrick Basile (178-94, college: CSUB) responded with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Lithuanian Andrius Globys (198-95) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Five Valur and four Thor AK players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Valur have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with KR. Thor AK at the other side dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. Valur will face league's second-placed Thor Thorl in Thorlakshofn in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Thor AK will play at home against Hottur (#12) and hope to win that game.
