Regular Season Round 23: Chalons-Reims - Dijon 80-90

Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Chalons-Reims (7-13) lost at home to second ranked JDA Dijon (17-4) 90-80 on Tuesday. JDA Dijon made 18-of-18 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Belgian Hans Vanwijn (208-95, agency: Network Sports International) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). American point guard David Holston (173-86, college: Chicago St.) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Five JDA Dijon players scored in double figures. Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Travis Leslie (193-90, college: Georgia) added 17 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Chalons-Reims. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for JDA Dijon. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Chalons-Reims keeps the fifteenth place with 13 games lost. JDA Dijon will face Cholet Basket (#12) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Chalons-Reims will play against Levallois and hope to win that game.
