Regular Season Round 23: Chalon - Gravelines 81-80

A very close game took place in Chalon between Chalon/Saor and Gravelines-Dunkerque. Sixteenth ranked Chalon/Saor (8-14) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (8-13). Chalon/Saor managed to escape with a 1-point win 81-80 on Tuesday evening. Chalon/Saor forced 20 Gravelines-Dunkerque turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Jordon Crawford (168-90, college: BGSU) who led the winners and scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. British forward Myles Hesson (198-90) accounted for 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Romuald Morency (202-95) came up with 22 points and American power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: MSU) added 11 points and 12 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for Gravelines-Dunkerque in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gravelines-Dunkerque's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Chalon/Saor moved-up to fourteenth place. Gravelines-Dunkerque lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Chalon/Saor will meet higher ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against JSF Nanterre (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
