Regular Season Round 22: Ionikos - Kolossos HH 86-85 OT

Eighth ranked Ionikos won an overtime thriller edging 7th ranked Kolossos HH by one point 85-86 on Wednesday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-16. But Kolossos HH won second period 21-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Kolossos HH used huge pressure winning it 23-15 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 8-9. Ionikos made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Vasileios Toliopoulos (186-96) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard Sayeed Pridgett (196-98, college: Montana) contributed with 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. Turkish forward Kerem Kanter (207-95, college: Xavier) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds and guard Thodoris Zaras (197-87) added 24 points in the effort for Kolossos HH. Five Ionikos and four Kolossos HH players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ionikos (8-14) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Kolossos HH.
