Regular Season Round 10: Filippos Veroias - Amyntas D. 71-87

There was no surprise in Veria where 12th ranked Filippos Veroias (2-8) was defeated by eighth ranked Amyntas D. (6-3) 87-71. Amyntas D. outrebounded Filippos Veroias 40-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Filippos Veroias' players. Forward Andreas Kanonidis (200-91) notched a double-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and naturalized Egyptian swingman Yaser Saleh (195-98) supported him with 18 points. Even 19 points and 9 rebounds by forward Danis Eleftheriadis (197-89) did not help to save the game for Filippos Veroias. Guard Faidonas Parapouras (190-87) added 16 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Amyntas D. have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Marousi and Eleftheroupoli. Filippos Veroias lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with eight games lost.
