Bottom-ranked Hottur managed to get the second consecutive victory on Thursday night. This time newly promoted Hottur edged eighth-ranked Thor AK in Akureyri 84-83. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 22-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Hottur looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Michael Mallory (185-94, college: S.Connecticut) stepped up and scored 25 points and 8 assists for the winners and Dutch-American Bryan Alberts (196-94, college: LBSU) chipped in 16 points. Alberts is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Spanish forward Ivan Aurrecoechea (203-95, college: NM State) with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and American point guard Dedrick Basile (178-94, college: CSUB) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 assists. Four Thor AK players scored in double figures. Hottur (6-13) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Njardvik and Haukar. Thor AK lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. Hottur will meet at home league's second-placed Thor Thorl in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Thor AK will play against Njardvik (#12) and hope to secure a win.
