Regular Season Round 21: Stjarnan - Njardvik 82-70

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Njardvik (6-13) was defeated on the road by third ranked Stjarnan (13-6) 82-70 on Thursday. Stjarnan looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward AJ Brodeur (206-96, college: Pennsylvania) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. The former international swingman Gunnar Olafsson (194-93, college: SFC, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Antonio Hester (199-90, college: Mobile, AL) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Croatian power forward Mario Matasovic (203-93, college: Sacred Heart) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Thor Thorl. Loser Njardvik dropped to the bottom position with 13 games lost. Stjarnan will face IR (#9) in Reykjavik in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Njardvik will play at home against Thor AK and hope to win that game.
