Regular Season Round 24: Boulazac - Strasbourg 79-86

Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Boulazac Basket (2-18) was defeated at home by fourth ranked SIG Strasbourg (16-6) 86-79 on Friday. SIG Strasbourg dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Boulazac Basket's 30. SIG Strasbourg looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Brandon Jefferson (175-91, college: MSU Denver) who scored 20 points and 4 assists. The other American import Bonzie Colson Jr (198-96, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Beninese power forward Mouphtaou Yarou (206-90, college: Villanova) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and American forward John Flowers (200-89, college: WVU) added 16 points respectively. Four Boulazac Basket players scored in double figures. SIG Strasbourg have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Boulazac Basket lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. SIG Strasbourg will meet at home Chorale de Roanne (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
