There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Alba (8-11) defeated on the road 10th ranked Empoli (8-14) 78-69 on Saturday. Alba made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Francesco Reggiani (195-2, agency: SLN) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and point guard Mattia Coltro (181-97) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Alba's coach Luca Jacomuzzi used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Lorenzo Restelli (195-96) with 13 points and 9 rebounds and center Riccardo Crespi (205-97, agency: Players Group) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Empoli players scored in double figures. Alba moved-up to tenth place. Empoli lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with 14 games lost.
