Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Salerno (13-9) beat on the road 12th ranked Molfetta (8-14) 75-62 on Sunday. Salerno dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Molfetta's 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Forward Lorenzo Tortu (202-92) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international power forward Massimo Rezzano (205-82) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Salerno players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized Croatian swingman Armin Mazic (199-93) with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Matteo Bini (201-94) scored 17 points. Molfetta's coach Sergio Carolillo tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Salerno have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Cassino. Molfetta lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost.
