The most important game of round 1 took place in Tel-Aviv where Hapoel Tel-Aviv edged Bnei Hasharon 82-79 on Wednesday night. Hapoel Tel-Aviv made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Cameroonian-American forward JP Tokoto (198-93, college: UNC) stepped up and scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American forward Tyrique Jones (206-97, college: Xavier, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Four Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Elijah Thomas (206-96, college: Clemson) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Max Heidegger (191-97, college: UCSB) scored 18 points and 7 assists. Bnei Hasharon will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will try to continue on its current victory against Maccabi Haifa on the road.
