Very important is a home loss of second ranked Brindisi (20-8) against fourth ranked Sassari (18-10) on Wednesday night. Host Brindisi was defeated by Sassari in a tough game in Brindisi 90-97. Sassari made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Sassari outrebounded Brindisi 36-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Sassari especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. American forward Jason Burnell (201-97, college: JSU) notched 20 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Croatian Filip Kruslin (198-89, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 22 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) by American DAngelo Harrison (193-93, college: St.John's) did not help to save the game for Brindisi. His fellow American import center Nick Perkins (203-96, college: Buffalo) added 21 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sassari have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Sassari went down to fifth position due to points difference. Brindisi lost third consecutive game. They keep the second place with eight games lost.
