Very expected game in Reykjavik where 8th ranked KR (2-19) was crushed by second ranked Haukar (15-6) 103-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Haukar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding KR to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Haukar dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to KR's 30. Haukar forced 29 KR turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Alyesha Lovett (183-93, college: Cincinnati) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). The former international forward Sara Hinriksdottir (185-96, college: Canisius) helped adding 9 points and 5 assists. Haukar's coach Bjarni Magnusson felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Finnish forward Annika Holopainen (185-93, college: ODU) responded with 27 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Perla Johannsdottir (164-93) scored 12 points. Haukar maintains second place with 15-6 record having just two points less than leader Valur. KR lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games.
