There was no surprise when 18th ranked Piacenza (1-7) was defeated on the road by sixteenth ranked Pistoia (4-4) 90-83 on Sunday. Pistoia made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Lorenzo Saccaggi (188-92, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds and American forward DeShawn Sims (203-88, college: Michigan) who added 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post) responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Markis McDuffie (203-97, college: Wichita St.) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Five Pistoia and four Piacenza players scored in double figures. Pistoia moved-up to third place, which they share with 6 other teams. Piacenza lost fourth consecutive game.
