Regular Season Round 27: Dijon - Monaco 86-83

The most exciting game of round 27 in the Jeep ELITE ProA took place in Dijon. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-best Monaco (17-3) to first ranked JDA Dijon (19-5) 86-83 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Monaco. JDA Dijon made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American Chase Simon (200-89, college: Detroit) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). International power forward Alexandre Chassang (203-94, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 18 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American point guard Rob Gray (185-94, college: Houston) with 26 points and international center Mathias Lessort (205-95, agency: BeoBasket) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Monaco's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. JDA Dijon maintains first place with 19-5 record. Defending champion Monaco keeps the second position with three games lost. JDA Dijon are looking forward to face Le Mans (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Monaco will play against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
