The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Verona (7-3) in Roma on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by fifth ranked Eurobasket RO (4-6) 81-78. It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of Verona. It was a good game for American guard Roberto Gallinat (191-96, college: Pacific, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory with 16 points. Swingman Lorenzo Bucarelli (198-98) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Francesco Candussi (211-94) replied with 17 points and American-Guinean forward Robert Jones (203-84, college: Washington) added 17 points in the effort for Verona. Five Eurobasket RO and four Verona players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Eurobasket RO moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Verona at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Trapani and Napoli.
