Anadolu Efes stormed past Besiktas in the semifinal series opener. Anadolu Efes made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international center Sertac Sanli (212-91) fired 21 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Croatian guard Krunoslav Simon (197-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. Five Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. International Sehmus Hazer (190-99) produced 30 points and 7 assists and Albanian Ercan Osmani (206-98) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
