Fenerbahce held off Pinar Karsiyaka in Game 1 of the series. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Pinar Karsiyaka won fourth quarter 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fenerbahce players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of French guard Nando De Colo (196-87) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 assists. German forward Danilo Barthel (208-91) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Fenerbahce's coach Igor Kokoskov allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Point guard Tony Taylor (184-90, college: GWU) answered with 20 points and American-Jamaican guard Sek Henry (193-87, college: Nebraska) added 16 points in the effort for Pinar Karsiyaka. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
