Bottom-ranked Hapoel Eilat (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 104-95 loss to fifth ranked Galil Gilboa (2-2) in Eilat on Sunday evening. They made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. International point guard Yiftah Ziv (191-95) stepped up and scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and American center Jehyve Floyd (203-97, college: Holy Cross) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American-Liberian point guard Joe Ragland (182-89, college: Wichita St.) responded with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and naturalized Swedish power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Galil Gilboa moved-up to third place. Hapoel Eilat at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Galil Gilboa will meet at home H.Haifa (#4) in the next round. Hapoel Eilat will play against Hapoel Holon and hopes to get finally their first victory.
