Hapoel Tel-Aviv (3-1) recorded its first loss in Rishon Le-Zion on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked M.Rishon (3-1) 99-93. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Hapoel Tel-Aviv. The hosts trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 31-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. M.Rishon looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Panamanian-American forward Akil Mitchell (206-92, college: Virginia) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). International guard Noam Dovrat (194-2) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 assists. Cameroonian-American forward JP Tokoto (198-93, college: UNC) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists and international guard Yam Madar (190-0, agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Five M.Rishon and four Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with H.Tel-Aviv and H.Beer Sheva. M.Rishon will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play on the road against the league's second-placed H.Beer Sheva and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
