But Trefl was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Torun 91-89 on Sunday night. Twarde Pierniki looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American point guard Maurice Watson (178-93, college: Creighton) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists for the winners and his fellow American import center Trevor Thompson (210-94, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side Dutch guard Yannick Franke (197-96) responded with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and American forward Darious Moten (202-92, college: Mercer) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Four Trefl players scored in double figures. Twarde Pierniki will meet WKS Slask in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Trefl will play against Start in Lublin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
