But Spojnia was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Sopot 94-82 on Saturday night. Trefl dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Spojnia's 36. The best player for the winners was international swingman Karol Gruszecki (198-89, college: UT Arlington) who scored 22 points and 8 assists. Dutch guard Yannick Franke (197-96) chipped in 23 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jake OBrien (205-89, college: Temple) who recorded 19 points and 7 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Islands forward Justin Gray (198-95, college: Texas Tech) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Trefl and four Spojnia players scored in double figures. Trefl will meet Start (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Spojnia will play against Legia (#4) in Warszawa and hope to win that game.
