There was a minor upset in Warszawa where higher ranked Legia (2-2) was edged by eleventh ranked Spojnia (2-2) 86-84 on Saturday. Spojnia outrebounded Legia 39-23 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Erick Neal (178-95, college: UT Arlington) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 5 assists and U.S. Virgin Islands forward Justin Gray (198-95, college: Texas Tech) who added 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Neal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Spojnia players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman (193-94, college: Michigan) responded with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import point guard Josh Sharkey (175-97, college: Samford) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Spojnia moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Legia. Spojnia will meet higher ranked Twarde Pierniki (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Legia will play against HydroTruck Radom and hope to secure a win.
