An interesting game took place in Skopje where Bulgarian Montana edged by three points North Macedonian Badel 77-74 on Wednesday night. Badel was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 19-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Montana forced 21 Badel turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Power forward Dimana Georgieva (188-88) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and forward Hristina Ivanova (186-89) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. At the losing side guard Aleksandra Stojanovska (178-94, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and center Ivana Kmetovska (190-95, college: WSU) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Montana and four Badel players scored in double figures. Montana will meet at home Banovici in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Badel will play against Celje and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
