Vimpelin Veto used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Kouvola 88-81 on Saturday night. Kouvottaret was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 31-21 charge of Vimpelin Veto, which allowed them to win the game. American swingman Shay Burnett (175-96, college: Elon) fired a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 20 rebounds, 11 assists and 7 steals for the winners. Serbian center Anastasija Podunavac (185-97, agency: BIG) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. Burnett is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American-American Samoan power forward Sarah Toeaina (185-96, college: Hawaii) produced 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Canadian forward Rashida Timbilla (185-92, college: UMass) added 19 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Vimpelin Veto and four Kouvottaret players scored in double figures. Kouvottaret's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vimpelin Veto will meet Forssan Alku on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kouvottaret will play against Marsky Helsinki and hope to win that game.
