Regular Season Round 3: Univ.Valladolid - Marin 76-74

There was a surprise result when Univ.Valladolid (1-2) edged at home Marin (2-1) 76-74 on Saturday. Univ.Valladolid forced 23 Marin turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Alvaro Encinas (202-94) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Alberto Garcia (196-99) accounted for 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Univ.Valladolid's coach Domingo Cano used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Dramel Hogan (194, college: Rochester, MI) came up with 22 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) and Juan Castro (198-98) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Marin in the defeat. Five Marin players scored in double figures. Univ.Valladolid will meet Culleredo (#9) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Marin will play against La Antigua (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
