Regular Season Round 1: Arxil - De La Torre 71-45

Very expected game when De La Torre was smashed by Arxil in Pontevedra 71-45 on Saturday. Arxil forced 20 De La Torre turnovers and outrebounded them 44-23 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by De La Torre's players. American forward Heather Forster (188-96, college: Albany) nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and Nerea Liste accounted for 12 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Arxil players scored in double figures. Arxil's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ester Sintes came up with 13 points and Paula Moreno added 8 points respectively for De La Torre in the defeat. Arxil will meet Genero in the next round and are hoping to win another game. De La Torre will play against Rosalia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
