Regular Season Round 1: Fos-Provence - Chalons-Reims 58-88

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Provence Basket in Fos-sur-Mer. Hosts were rolled over by Chalons-Reims 88-58. The game without a history. Chalons-Reims led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Provence Basket's 30. They outrebounded Provence Basket 40-17 including a 32-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. Provence Basket was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Myke Henry (198-92, college: DePaul) stepped up and scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Chalons-Reims players scored in double figures. Chalons-Reims' coach Cedric Heitz felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side naturalized Central African Allan Dokossi (203-99) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds and American-Liberian Lasan Kromah (198-91, college: UConn) scored 12 points and 5 assists. Chalons-Reims will play against Chorale de Roanne at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Provence Basket will play against JDA Dijon to get more than just one victory in their record.
