Regular Season Round 3: Valle de Egues - Getxo 85-66

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Getxo (2-1) in Olaz on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Valle de Egues (3-0) 85-66. Valle de Egues dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Getxo's 18 and made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Javier Lacunza (203-94, college: FAU) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Nicolas Uriz (184-96) accounted for 23 points for the winning side. Eder Chavarri (180-97) came up with 19 points and 6 rebounds and forward Joseba Iglesias (200-83) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Getxo in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Valle de Egues will meet Ardoi in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Getxo will play against Mondragon (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
