There was no surprise in Banska Bystrica where SK UMB BB was crushed by Piestanske C. 100-23 on Wednesday. Piestanske C. held SK UMB BB to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 47.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Piestanske C. forced 45 SK UMB BB turnovers and outrebounded them 42-24 including a 23-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Piestanske C. looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by SK UMB BB's players. International Natalia Martiskova (170-99) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Sarah Boothe (195-90, college: Stanford) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Piestanske C. players scored in double figures. Center Klara Paulechova (182-0) responded with 10 points and 5 rebounds and Klaudia Haberova (173-99) scored 5 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Piestanske C. will meet at home BAM Poprad in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
