An exciting game was played in Forssa. Forssan Alku faced Vimpelin Veto. Host Forssan Alku defeated guests from Vimpeli 81-69. The game was mostly controlled by Forssan Alku. Vimpelin Veto managed to win third quarter 21-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Forward Ninni Salmi (185-96, college: NIU) scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Tuulia Anttonen (177-97) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Four Forssan Alku players scored in double figures. Forssan Alku's coach Aleksi Suominen used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American swingman Shay Burnett (175-96, college: Elon) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and her fellow American import forward Kym Royster (188-97, college: Indiana, agency: Green Sports Management) scored 22 points. Forssan Alku will meet Marsky Helsinki on the road in the next round. Vimpelin Veto will play against Tampereen Pyrinto and hope to win that game.
