Regular Season Round 2: Pozega - Partizan 87-84

A very close game took place in Pozega between Croatian Plamen and Serbian Partizan. Plamen got a very close home victory over Partizan. Plamen managed to escape with a 3-point win 87-84 on Thursday evening. Partizan trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 31-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 84-87 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Partizan 43-31 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Plamen looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. DR Congolese power forward La Mama Kapinga Maweja (194-97) notched a double-double by scoring 27 points, 23 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the effort and forward Jelena Ivezic (183-84) supported her with 32 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field). Even 27 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals by Bosnian point guard Andjela Gligic (169-0) did not help to save the game for Partizan. Jovana Boricic (179-3) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Five Partizan players scored in double figures. Plamen will meet Celje on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Partizan will play against Montana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
