Regular Season Round 3: Fjolnir - Haukar 68-111

The game in Reykjavik supposed to be also quite interesting. Haukar (3-0) played at the court of Fjolnir (1-2). Haukar smashed Fjolnir 111-68 on Friday. The game without a history. Haukar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Fjolnir's 38. Haukar forced 25 Fjolnir turnovers and outrebounded them 48-25 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Dutch center Deion Bute (206-95, college: CCSU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds. American guard Jeremy Smith (190-91, college: Nicholls St.) accounted for 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Five Haukar players scored in double figures. American forward D.J. Foreman (203-94, college: St.Louis) came up with 20 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Viktor Steffensen (193-2) added 18 points respectively for Fjolnir in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Haukar will meet Skallagrimur (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fjolnir will play against Hrunamenn (#8) in Fludir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
