Regular Season Round 1: Grindavik - Thor AK 69-61

Grindavik defeated Thor AK at home 69-61. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Thor AK won third quarter 15-7. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Spanish forward Ivan Aurrecoechea (203-95, college: NM State) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and French-Israeli point guard Naor Sharabani (193-95) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Grindavik players scored in double figures. At the losing side Irish power forward Jordan Blount (203-97, college: UIC, agency: One Motive Sports) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and guard Ragnar Agustsson (194-1) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Thor AK will play next round against strong Njardvik trying to get back on the winning streak. Grindavik will try to continue on its current victory against Valur at Reykjavik.
