Regular Season Round 2: Promitheas - PAOK 84-77

There was no surprise in Patras where PAOK was defeated by Promitheas 84-77 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-77. Promitheas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Kendrick Ray (188-94, college: KSU) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Abdul Gaddy (193-92, college: Washington) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists during the contest. Point guard Malcolm Griffin (193-91, college: FPU) responded with 21 points and 5 assists and center Marvin Jones (213-93, college: Texas Southern, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four PAOK players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Promitheas will meet Olympiacos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. PAOK's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Thessaloniki Iraklis.
