Regular Season Round 3: Nokia - Seagulls 65-92

The biggest surprise of round 3 was guest Seagulls' (2-1) easy road victory over Nokia (#6) 92-65 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Seagulls led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was international Shawn Huff (198-84, college: Valpo) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Lassi Nikkarinen (187-97, college: Montana St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 assists. Four Seagulls players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Puerto Rican power forward Arnaldo Toro (203-97, college: St.John's) who recorded 5 points and 14 rebounds and forward Max Besselink (202-2, college: Santa Clara) added 13 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Seagulls is looking forward to face KTP Basket (#3) in Kotka in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Nokia will play on the road against Kataja in Joensuu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
