Quite upsetting was Albacete's home defeat in a game versus Menorca who edged hosts 70-67. Albacete was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. They outrebounded Albacete 48-31 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. American point guard Jermaine Marrow (183-97, college: Hampton) fired 23 points and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Diego Alderete (197-0) chipped in 5 points and 13 rebounds. Menorca's coach Javier Zamora allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Irish forward John Carroll (204-95, college: Hartford) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds and Danish swingman David Knudsen (196-94, college: Marist, agency: Players Group) added 23 points respectively for lost side. Menorca will meet at home Alginet in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Albacete will play against Mollet and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
