Regular Season Round 2: Spisski Rytieri - Komarno 87-75

There was a small surprise when Spisski Rytieri beat Komarno in Nova Ves 87-75 on Saturday. They outrebounded Komarno 35-21 including 21 on the defensive glass. Spisski Rytieri looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American Grant Dressler (201-97, college: Chaminade) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Serbian forward Marko Stevanovic (203-94) supported him with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Spisski Rytieri players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 9 rebounds by American power forward Tyrell Johnson (203-97, college: App State) did not help to save the game for Komarno. Serbian swingman Luka Gasic (195-98) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Komarno's coach Zlatko Jovanovic tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Spisski Rytieri will meet Iskra Svit on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Komarno will play against Levice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
