Regular Season Round 4: Getxo - Mondragon 87-65

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Getxo and 7th ranked Mondragon had identical 2-1 record. This time Getxo used a home court advantage and outplayed the opponent from Mondragon 87-65 on Saturday night. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Ander Fernandez (193-94) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Joseba Iglesias (200-83) who added 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Getxo players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Daniel Lorenzo (181-93) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Alex Ramon (186-93, college: Colgate) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Getxo (3-1) moved-up to third place in Group A-A, which they share with 4 other teams. Mondragon at the other side dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. They share it with Cantbasket. Getxo will meet league's leader Santurtzi on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mondragon will play against Ardoi (#4) and hope to secure a win.
