Regular Season Round 2: RSU - LCC Tarp. 111-26

RSU used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Klaipeda 111-26 on Saturday night. The game without a history. RSU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding LCC Tarp. to just 5 points in fourth quarter and to 12 points in second half. RSU held LCC Tarp. to an opponent 18.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 58.2 percent accuracy of the winners. RSU forced 39 LCC Tarp. turnovers and outrebounded them 49-17 including a 24-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by LCC Tarp.'s players. Forward Marta Leimane (178-3) scored 20 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Latvian forward Juta Harcenko (180-2) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four RSU players scored in double figures. Forward Guste Draksaite (184-0) responded with 9 points and Serbian center Vanja Petrovic (191-1) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. RSU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Riga TTT Riga.
