Regular Season Round 1: Valdarno - Nico Basket 70-55

Valdarno used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Ponte Buggianese 70-55 on Saturday night. Valdarno made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Forward Elena Ramo (183-94) fired 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Angelica Tibe (184-96) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Valdarno players scored in double figures. Guard Sara Giangrasso (175-0) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Chiara Bacchini (180-98, college: Quinnipiac) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Valdarno will meet Capri on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nico Basket will play against Umbertide and hope to win that game.
