Regular Season Round 3: Pyrinto - ViVe 78-88

Rather predictable result when Vimpelin Veto (2-1) won against on the road Tampereen Pyrinto (0-3) 88-78 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vimpelin Veto. Tampereen Pyrinto managed to win fourth quarter 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vimpelin Veto looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Shay Burnett (175-96, college: Elon) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists. Her fellow American import forward Kym Royster (188-97, college: Indiana, agency: Green Sports Management) accounted for 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Burnett is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Vimpelin Veto players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Anni Jamsa (169-95) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 assists and forward Evianna Sipila (181-95) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Tampereen Pyrinto in the defeat. Tampereen Pyrinto's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vimpelin Veto will meet at home Marsky Helsinki in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tampereen Pyrinto will play against Catz Lappeenranta (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
