Everything could happen in Barcelona at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Salou and bottom-ranked Barbera had identical 0-1 record. But Barbera was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Salou 80-70 on Saturday night. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Equatorial Guinean power forward Oscar Ngomo (201-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and American forward CJ Barksdale (203-92, college: Virginia Tech) who added 21 points during the contest. Salou's coach Jesus Muniz used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side point guard Bernat Alvarez (176-95) responded with 16 points and naturalized Andorra point guard Marti Obiols (171-2, agency: Interperformances) scored 15 points and 5 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Salou (1-1) left bottom position moving up to fifth place in Group C-1, which they share with 3 other teams. Barbera at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.
