Regular Season Round 1: Palma - Melilla 61-69

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Palma in S'Arenal on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Melilla 69-61. Melilla outrebounded Palma 36-25 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Alex Llorca (192-89) who helped to win the game recording 8 points and 5 rebounds. Belgian forward Thomas De Thaey (203-91, college: NC State, agency: Promo Sport ID) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Melilla players scored in double figures. Argentinian Maximo Fjellerup (196-97) answered with 27 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Pol Figueras (187-98) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Palma. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Melilla is looking forward to face Estudiantes in Madrid in the next round. Palma will play on the road against Granada and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
