Regular Season Round 2: Iraklis - Peristeri 76-79

There was a minor upset in Thessaloniki where Iraklis was edged by Peristeri 79-76 on Sunday. The game without a history. Peristeri led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Peristeri especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. American guard Ian Miller (190-91, college: FSU) scored 20 points to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Terran Petteway (198-92, college: Nebraska) chipped in 14 points during the contest. Four Peristeri players scored in double figures. American point guard Toney Douglas (188-86, college: FSU) responded with 27 points, 5 assists and 6 steals and international Ioannis Kouzeloglou (204-95) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Iraklis' coach Thanasis Skourtopoulos tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Peristeri will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Iraklis' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Thessaloniki to the arena PAOK.
