Everything could happen in La Carolina at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Carolinas and bottom-ranked Ilicitano had identical 0-1 record. This time Carolinas used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Elche 61-59 on Sunday night. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Aldo Serneguet (193-96) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds and Alejandro Blazquez (-1) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Russian Andrei Trashkov (-97) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks and swingman Mario Lopez (195-97) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Carolinas (1-1) left bottom position moving up to third place in Group E-C, which they share with 3 other teams. Ilicitano at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Archena. Carolinas will meet league's second-placed Murcia 2 on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ilicitano will play against the league's leader Jairis (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
